Fire Fighting FDC with Clapper

When it comes to a community’s safety, firefighters are in the forefront attacking a fire and making sure everyone is safe around them.” One of the most important tools that are used by the firemen is the Fire department connections (FDC) with a clapper. What, then, is this tool, and why is it so crucial to fire fighting agencies?

How a Clapper Helps Firefighters Monitor Water Pressure in FDC Systems

In firefighting we need water, obviously. Fire Department Connection (FDC), the clapper makes it possible to test the pressure of water at the FDC system by fire fighters. A metal flap, the clapper, swings back and forth to make the clanging sound and enables firefighters to hear it. The clapper, if hit, helps firefighters determine whether the water pressure in the water system is sufficient to properly extinguish the fire.
